Benchmarking: What and How (Microsoft Teams)

This article relates to SWOOP for Teams.

What is Benchmarking?

For those users with SWOOP administrator permissions, the facility exists to create custom comparative benchmarking reports. These reports are useful for those managing collections of Teams e.g. Program managers or Business Segment leaders. The results can be exported into spreadsheets for external use, if required.

Personal Comparisons

Team and Multiple Team leaders, with the appropriate permissions, can report on the individual performances of staff members. The statistics include their total Teams activity across all Teams they are participating in. This feature should be used with respect to your organisation’s privacy policies.

Business Segment Comparisons

It can be insightful to compare the different business segment’s adoption of Teams. Is Legal more active than HR? Is Teams only being used in the Projects Space?

Uneven adoption of Teams across the different business segments could flag issues down the track, if or when the organisation looks to adopt cross business segment Teams.

Team Comparisons

It is common for Teams to be clustered into ‘programs’ with a Program Manager overseeing them. Sometimes these clusters might be aligned with a formal line of business or geographic location. Either way, it is useful to compare the activities of the selected teams.

To look at how teams are interconnected you should refer to the Cross-Enterprise Collaboration Report and/or Team of Teams Map.
